A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is most commonly referred to as a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) in Australia

Farming and Agriculture Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)

People often ask, "Can I have a Safe Work Method Statement for Farming woks, or Agriculture?" "A document that covers everything?"  The answer is not really.

A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) needs to document step by step how you are going to do a particular job. Not all jobs are the same! Are you going to slash using a  tractor, or spray pesticides?

SWMS for Inspection and use of a Tractor are included in all versions of the JSEAsy WHS Software
The Farming and Agriculture industry has parallels with the Civil industry, Pest Control, Horticulture, Mechanical and Construction Industry. JSEAsy can help you with it all!

The steps in undertaking each of these tasks are very different. Not only are the steps different, but the potential hazards and the hazard control measures are very different as well.

The JSEAsy software builds your site specific SWMS for your Farming, Agriculture or Agribusiness job by adding templates of the steps you are going to take, in the order in which you are going to take them.

Download a sample of a SWMS  generated from the JSEAsy software.

The JSEAsy software  comes preloaded with hundreds of templates (job steps) to build your site specific SWMS.

All versions of the software also includes Safe Operating Procedures (SOP).

The JSEAsy Premium software is your total WHS management system.
When maintaining your plant and vehicles, the SWMS templates included in the mechanical, automotive and plant section will really help you
Create site specific SWMS for all Civil and Excavation work quickly and easily using the JSEAsy WHS software

The JSEAsy software comes preloaded with hundreds of templates (job steps).

Below is an example of templates you may insert into your site specific SWMS for Mustering using Off Road and 4WD vehicles and the sub steps that come in with them.

  1. Mustering using Off Road and 4WD vehicles
    1. Preparing for the Muster
      1. Many factors dictate the need to begin a muster at the earliest possible time to mitigate animal welfare issues. These include:
 Taking advantage of the coolest part of the day.
 Allowing pilots and ground personal time to manage the herds’ movements
      2. As in a normal muster there needs to be the flexibility but during a drought or flood this should be even more obvious. The animals will be very weak and require great care when using aerial mustering to move them
  2. Inspect and Drive Off Road Vehicle/ 4WD
    1. Pre-operation Inspection
    2. Board the vehicle
    3. Start the vehicle
    4. Drive the vehicle
    5. Reversing the vehicle
    6. Driving Off Road
  3. Working in isolation
    1. Plan work times and location(s)
    2. Carry out work tasks
    3. Completion of works
  4. Refuelling of vehicles and machinery
  5. Monitoring and Review of SWMS

When you insert a template it automatically brings with it:

  1. The main process step
  2. The sub process steps associated in undertaking the task
    1. The potential hazards associated with undertaking the task (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
    2. The Risk Rating for undertaking the task (You can also change this if you want to)
    3. The Hazard Control measure (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
    4. The revised risk rating after applying the control (You can also change this if you want to)
    5. Any required PPE (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
    6. Any applicable licences or qualifications required (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
    7. Any pre operational inspections required (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
    8. Any applicable legislation or codes of practice (you can also delete or add any of these with a simple click)
