Below is an example of steps you would take for Safety inspection of TTX Hydraulic Torque Wrench and hydraulic pump.   You can insert this template a part of your overall site specific SWMS.

  1. Safety inspection of TTX Hydraulic Torque Wrench and hydraulic pump
    1. Perform preoperational inspection
    2. Connect the wrench to the hydraulic pump
    3. Plug in the hydraulic pump
    4. Start the pump
    5. Test the function of the wrench and pump
    6. Setting the Reaction Arm
    7. Setting Torque
    8. Setting the Pressure on the Pump
  2. Applying the Torque Machine - the Tightening Process
    1. Cycle the tool three or four times to full pressure prior to putting it on the application
    2. Place the proper size impact socket on the square drive
    3. Place the tool and the socket on the nut
    4. Positioning the wrench
    5. Apply momentary pressure to the system to ensure proper tool placement
  3. Operating the Torque Machine
    1. Pushdown on the remote control button in the advance position
    2. Continue to hold down the button as the socket turns to tighten to the requires torque setting
  4. Loosening Procedures
    1. Set the pump to 10,000 PSI
    2. Change the drive and the reaction arm to the loosening mode, and place socket over nut
    3. Press and hold the remote control button down
