A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is most commonly referred to as a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) in Australia

Roofing and Cladding Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)

People often ask, "Can I have a Safe Work Method Statement for Roofing?" "A document that covers everything?"  The answer is not really.

A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) needs to document step by step how you are going to do a particular job. Not all jobs are the same!

For starters how are you going to access the roof? Are you going to access the roof via a ladder or via a Scaffold?
Maybe you are going to access the roof via a fixed roof access ladder or from a scissor lift?

The steps in accessing  a roof via a ladder are very different from the steps to access a roof via a scissor lift. Not only are the steps different, but the potential hazards and the hazard control measures are very different as well.

Templates for creating a site-specific SWMS for all aspects of commercial roofing and cladding are included in all versions of the JSEAsy safety software
No matter how you are going to access the roof, we’ve got you covered

On one job you may load the roofing materials and roof sheeting onto the structure using a crane. On the next job you may simply be pulling them up by hand.

The steps in undertaking each of these tasks are very different. Not only are the steps different, but the potential hazards and the hazard control measures are very different as well.

The JSEAsy software builds your site specific SWMS for your roofing, guttering or cladding job by adding templates of the steps you are going to take, in the order in which you are going to take them.

Roofing and Cladding is always considered High Risk Construction work.

The way you are going to install Roofing and cladding will vary from job to job.

Your Safe Work Method Statement need to accurately reflect this as well.

Are you going to use a mobile scaffold? work from a steel scaffold? Are you going to use scissor lifts or boom lifts or both? What about from a step ladder or a platform ladder?

Each of these methods of access your work area have different procedures, different hazards, and different ways to control them.

JSEAsy has different templates included for all of these different variables.

The JSEAsy software comes preloaded with hundreds of templates (job steps).
